Due to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, a 25 year-old girl Wangqiongyi became attached to archery. She said that in the summer of 2008, her school organized summer camp to visit Beijing. It coincides with Olympics, she watch many competitions.

One archery event impressed her. That is a ranking competition. Chinese shooter Zhangjuanjuan braced 10 arrows in a row, which heat the audiences. Afterwards, Zhangjuanjuan beat three Korea famous athletes in the elimination event and got the first gold medal for China. This excited Wangqiongyi.

She likes sports from her childhood. After watching her competition, she was interested in the archery. Since she go to college in Beijing, she shot all the way.

In 2012, Wangqiongyi came back Zhuzhou after graduation. She found that there is no one professional archery club. Changsha did not have archery club until in 2014. Therefore, every time she wants to shoot, she must drive to Changsha. As time goes by, she got to know 10 or so Zhuzhou archery fanciers, which reminded her of promoting archery.

In August 18, 2015, Wangqiongyi and her 60 or so archery fanciers formed the Zhuzhou archery association. Through promotion, now Zhuzhou city has 600 archery fanciers and professional archery field.

“Archery also changes my personality.” Wangqiongyi said, I was impetuous in the past. But archery is a quiet sport. If you want to learn it well, you must calm down. Therefore, I am calmer, more dedicated.

Import APCC event into Zhuzhou

Wangqiongyi said, after she loves archery, she started from shooting 100 arrows every day. And now she shoots more than 500 arrows a day. The bow used is tighter. Although archery is a quiet sport, it benefits me a lot. She said, the excise of more than 500 arrows a day, is equal to the excise of lifer a day.

After Wangqiongyi forms the Zhuzhou archery association, she has organized the fanciers to take part in the national amateur archery competitions for two times. Recently in March, she organized over 70 archery fanciers to take part in the Guangzhou Tower Cup outdoor archery invitational competition.

This time we were better, and got some awards, among which, she took part in the female recurve and got the tenth place. In the elimination event, she done well and shot 9 rings and 10 rings in a row. So she eliminated 3 people to enter the final. She got the fifth place in the end.

In order to promote the archery better in Zhuzhou, she imported APCC event into Zhuzhou. In May this year, Zhuzhou will hold APCC the first Huazhong area national invitational archery competition. At that time, there will be many amateur top shooters to compete here.
